Inspired By God Mission Statement
“The ministry of Inspired by God is to illustrate that it’s biblical and necessary to look at our past and only through recognizing its relevance can we be released to confess, grieve and forgive allowing Christ to bring about redemption for our souls and reconciliation, freedom and healing to our hearts.”
“MINISTRY”
Ministry is the act of service or being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. My ministry is the act of a surrendered obedience to do as Jesus did, doing only what the Father gives me to do.
“INSPIRED BY GOD”
Being Inspired by God describes the spiritual state of being able to comprehend that every mountain and valley, every triumph and tragedy has the power to either define us or inspire us. When we allow these events to inspire us, God will use them to transform us from the inside out and equip us with everything we need to walk in a manner worthy of God’s divine plan and purpose for our lives.
Each of us has a story to tell! A story that has either been written by the world or one that is inspired by God and written for the good of those He loves to give Him the glory He so deserves. I choose to tell the story HE HAS INSPIRED!
“TO ILLUSTRATE”
To illustrate is to make vivid, to clarify by giving or by serving as an example through the use of visual aids.
Through this ministry I will create vivid word pictures of the dungeons of the past where pain and despair imprison the heart and hold it captive with chains of resentment, fear, and hurt, where time and purpose are lost to hopelessness and love is out of reach.
Then I will lead my patrons to the feet of Jesus! Here the unconditional love of Jesus will touch them with words of comfort and healing and encourage them to surrender their hearts completely to Him. Only His love and forgiveness have the power to break off every chain that imprisons their hearts and deliver them from that dungeon of despair into the abundant life He promises.
“THAT IT’S BIBLICAL AND NECESSARY”
Biblical refers to truths that are found in the Word of God. Necessary defines something that is both vital to life, growth and our well-being.
The key to my freedom was found in my past. My desire is to give my patrons the courage to pick up that key and use it to open their own dungeon of the past and allow the Lord to set them free.
“TO LOOK AT OUR PAST”
Look is an action verb that means to direct ones attention to something by the use of the eyes. However, when it comes to looking at our past or ourselves, most often the saying is true that “we have eyes but we do not see.”
“AND ONLY THROUGH RECOGNIZING”
To recognize means to acknowledge or take note of in a definite way. However, to recognize or know the truth is only the first step in breaking free of the past.
I want my patrons to recognize the importance of how the past shapes their beliefs and their behavior in the present. If they’ll allow the truth of God’s Word to expose the lies of the enemy, the Lord will set them free from the deeds of darkness and bring them into His glorious light.
“IT’S RELEVANCE”
Relevance is the measure that determines whether information is practical and socially applicable to the matter at hand. One does not have to look far to see the devastating dysfunctional affects this false assumption of “Leaving the Past Behind” is having on the body of Christ and the world around us.
Getting the word out regarding this false assumption is the passion that is at the heart of this ministry. I want my patrons to know freedom is possible and God’s mercy and grace are available to set them free from the trauma of their past so they can experience all that God has for them.
“CAN WE BE RELEASED”
Release is defined as relief or deliverance from sorrow, suffering or trouble. Release is necessary for reconciliation.
Beloved, Christian therapy is what God used to release me from the dungeon of my past and transform my ashes into a garland of beauty, my mourning into the oil of gladness, and the spirit of fainting into a mantle of praise.
My constant prayer is to come along side those who are hurting with the hope that they too can be released from the strongholds of the past and God can do the same thing for them as He has done for me.
“TO CONFESS”
To confess is to agree with God regarding the wrongness of our sin which leads to true repentance. It also refers to making a proclamation or formal statement of one’s beliefs.
I don’t want to tickle the ears of my patrons with easy listening, safe truths that leave them feeling warm and fuzzy but still in bondage. My hope is to give them the TRUTH that will provide all the weaponry necessary to fight the good fight, finish the course, and receive the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
“GRIEVE”
Grieving is a response to loss or disappointment that is characterized by severe pain, suffering and sorrow.
I learned to cover my hurt and pain with a plastic smile and joke about the abuse of my past as if there were something funny about it. As a child, I endured the loss of connectedness due to divorce and neglect, the loss of innocence due to incest, the loss of security due to physical, emotional abuse and the loss of love, acceptance and approval due to verbal abuse and abandonment issues. It took me five years of outpatient therapy to grieve those losses and let go of what kept my present in bondage to my past. God’s tenderness and compassion with the intense sorrow of my wounded child helped me find the joy of the Lord in the midst of my pain.
I want to bring that same kind of joy to my patrons. Only then will they be able to take God’s hand and grieve their losses.
“AND FORGIVE ALLOWING CHRIST TO BRING ABOUT”
To forgive is to release ourselves and/or others of the penalty or punishment due as a result of sinful conduct and to cease feeling the hurt and anger regarding the offense and toward the offender.
God helped me see that unforgiveness is nail prints created by a tightly clenched fist, ready to strike, to return wound for wound. However, Christ got His nail prints from outstretched hands pierced through. I desire to help my patrons understand the meaning of true forgiveness and that forgiveness for those who have hurt them is the greatest gift they can give themselves.
“REDEMPTION FOR OUR SOULS”
Redemption is the act of saving or being saved from sin, evil, and ultimately, eternal death. It can also refer to the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment or clearing a debt. In theology, redemption refers to deliverance from sin and salvation; atonement for guilt associated with sin.
My greatest desire in ministry is to see others come to know Christ! To see their lives redeemed by the love of God and transformed daily by the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit.
“FREEDOM AND HEALING”
Freedom is liberation from slavery or restraint from the power of another. Healing refers to being restored to health or to overcome an undesirable condition.
Freedom is a choice. Wounded people don’t often see freedom as an option or choice they have the power to make. Freedom and healing are the language that speaks of the unconditional love of God that can penetrate the heart where the depth of pain and hurt are most often felt.
I am so blessed to know freedom and healing from the bondage of my past. I desire to live the rest of my life sharing this message with others in thankfulness to God for what He has done for me.
